Successful co-operation between conVISUAL and Endemol Deutschland

conVISUAL is the successful media partner and technical service provider for Endemol Deutschland. On Sunday, 22nd of April, the broadcasters MDR and RBB used conVISUAL’s interactive services in the German TV charity show ’Ein Dorf wird gewinnen’ (A village will win). conVISUAL was responsible for the concept and realisation of the SMS and voice voting as well as for the billing of the services.

2 May 2007 – Oberhausen, Germany

One out of four villages had the chance to win 500,000 EUR for the redevelopment of its dilapidated church. Villages in four German federal states were nominated for selection, i. e. Walddorf am Kottmar in Saxony, Polleben in Saxony-Anhalt, Wechmar in Thuringia and Alt Krüssow in Brandenburg. Viewers were invited to participate interactively from home, giving their votes per SMS or phone. At the end of the two hour broadcast Walddorf was chosen as the winner.

conVISUAL took on the concept creation, provision of interactive SMS and voice voting numbers, complete technical realisation, billing of services and statistical live determination of the winning village at the end of the broadcast, for the TV format produced for Endemol Deutschland.

The voting channels had been activated two days before. The action was additionally supported and promoted, cross-media, on the radio and in the Internet.

In the last year, Endemol Deutschland and conVISUAL proved their successful co-operation with the show ’Ein Schloss wird gewinnen’(A castle will win). This year, the number of voting participants was even higher than in the previous year. As a result of this success the three defeated villages did not miss out, sharing the net receipts from the voting.
