conVISUAL Nominated for the VOICE Award – the German "Oscar" for Voice Technology

The hotline for Red Nose Day donations is among the top 3 nominees for the title “Best Value-Added Service“ awarded by VOICE BUSINESS.

Oberhausen, Germany – 18 September 2008

For the fifth time in a row, the initiative VOICE BUSINESS decorated companies with the VOICE Award for the best voice dialogue system, i. e. voice controlled telephone services. A jury of experts under the direction of Prof. Wolfgang Wahlster, head of the DFKI (Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz: German research center for artificial intelligence), elected the Red Nose Day donation hotline, designed and realized by conVISUAL, to one of the top 3 nominees for the “Best Value-Added Service Award“. The interactive voice dialogue system excels through innovative and consultation-friendly voice recognition. Moreover, it enables cost-efficient processing of even high-volume phone calls.

In the last five years, the VOICE Award has become the most important benchmark for voice applications in German language. The Award goes to the best public voice-enabled hotline or the best cost-liable voice portal with the most attractive business model, respectively. This year, there were 50 applications from Germany, Austria and Switzerland for five award categories. Not more than eleven services made it to the final round. The winners will be announced at the VOICE Days trade fair in Wiesbaden, Germany, on the 15th of October 2008.
