conVISUAL is Bringing Photos onto T-Mobile’s Digital Picture Frame

T-Mobile has commissioned conVISUAL with the implementation of the picture transmission and the Web portal for its first Digital Picture Frame. Users are enabled to send holiday photos and snapshots to the frame, using MMS technology and the Web portal.

conVISUAL (ISIN: DE0006204589) has taken on the objective of implementing the MMS and Internet functionalities for the picture transmission onto T-Mobile’s first Digital Picture Frame. The frame enables the users to receive photos free of charge that have been sent from any camera phone or personal computer. Addressing its own mobile number, snapshots or holiday pictures can be sent as MMS directly onto the frame. The photos are then presented as a high quality slide show.

conVISUAL takes the MMS messages, converts them into the respective format and delivers them to the picture frame. The portal invites the users to upload their photos, attach an individual text and send both to the picture frame. The photos are saved in their original resolution, allowing for later processing, e. g. by a photo service provider. conVISUAL takes on the optimal image transcoding for the picture frame, and provides the payment function per SMS. The optimization of the picture formats by conVISUAL enables a quick and cost-efficient transmission within the mobile networks.

Additionally, a viral marketing component has been integrated: If a user inserts a friend’s cell phone number on the Web site conVISUAL advises him/her about the mobile number of the frame and invites him/her to send photos via MMS.
