Playful learning via mobile phone – conVISUAL and KaSyX provide mobile puzzles and logic games
conVISUAL and KaSyX sign exclusive contract about sales and commercialisation of mobile applications in the area “puzzles and logic”.
8 December 2006 – Oberhausen, Germany
Today, we cannot imagine newspapers and magazines without puzzle and logic games. However, there has not been a persistent extension to the mobile medium yet, although there is a large target group for the variegated segment “puzzles and logic“. While young mobile users fancy action games, there is a great demand for sophisticated entertainment, in form of logic and knowledge games, from the target group of users over thirty.
conVISUAL and KaSyX see a great potential here. With “smart4mobile”, they build up a brand for puzzle and logistic applications, to be established on the national and international market. KaSyX, in Karlsruhe, is the leading company in Germany for the development of puzzle generators. Its success is based on more than ten years of experience with the creation of puzzles. KaSyX, managing extensive knowledge data bases, is actually able to create any common type of puzzle. The emphasis has been put on products in the area of mathematical and logic puzzles as well as playful teaching. Publishing houses are currently the most important customers. The new mobile contents also addresses network operators, application service providers, media companies, TV stations and end device manufacturers in the whole world.
At the beginning of next year, conVISUAL and KaSyX are launching a portfolio of various games, including “Letterlink”, “Magic Square” and “Sudoku Trainer”, to be extended every month. “Cross-word”, “Icon Puzzle”, etc. are in preparation. The launch of the subscription model is planned for summer 2007. conVISUAL and KaSyX create a user profile by using data transmitted over a WAP connection. The profile is analysed by the system, to be able to provide users with upgrade or game recommendations, depending on their individual preferences and abilities.
Oliver Schmukalla, Head of Content Services of conVISUAL, is sure that the co-operation will become a success: ”A closer look at the market situation shows that the area “logic, puzzles and learning” consists of a motley portfolio with applications of dubious quality. Without question, “Sudoku” has always been a good example for the success of this genre. Our aim is to recreate this segment, with regard to quality, and to open up the growing market persistently and durably. We are pleased about our partnership with KaSyX, using its long-term experience as market leader in the area of puzzle development and creation exclusively for this project.“
